- The workshops train students on respiratory health so that they acquire healthy habits
- The center's 1st and 2nd grade children have been the first to receive the training
The primary school students of Antanes School have participated in the training workshops on lung health given with the Lovexair Foundation. The entity, through the Happy Air Project, seeks to make students aware of the vital importance of our respiratory system and learn to value it from a different point of view.
These educational workshops are included within the HappyAir program an innovative project that carries out actions to promote, prevent and monitor lung health. This ambitious initiative launched by the Lovexair Foundation, provides information for citizens to lead an active and healthy life. Thanks to the creation of the figure of air manThe Foundation wishes to promote this programme among children in order to raise awareness of respiratory diseases.
The workshops are taught by healthcare professionals specialised in respiratory health. Through the figure of a superhero, Airman, students are instructed in the different care and habits they must acquire to take care of their respiratory system. “Airman” like every superhero has several superpowers, that of Breath, Super Breath, Super Shield and Super Scream. The little ones learn healthy lifestyle habits as well as having fun, and when they finish the workshop they have become Airboys and Airgirls, assistants of the great superhero.
In these workshops, the professionals work with the children on the values of tolerance and respect towards classmates who have respiratory pathologies. "Airman" has a pet, a dragon that does not shoot flames and smoke, but air. This resource teaches children that there may be others just like them but with different respiratory needs.
Lovexair chooses Antanes School
Antanes School has been the centre chosen to begin the training workshops given by the Lovexair Foundation. These workshops have a recreational-educational character and include Activities and games with children to familiarize them with the respiratory system, expand their knowledge about respiratory diseases and learn about the risks of smoking and other unhealthy habits. The foundation's goal with these actions is for children to have an active, healthy life with better care for their lung health.
Shane Fitch, president of the Lovexair Foundation, has highlighted the importance of developing this type of action in educational centers, “At the foundation we are concerned about the prevention of respiratory diseases. For this reason we consider that these types of workshops are very important so that children from a very early age are aware of the risks of tobacco, and acquire habits that are beneficial for their health. In addition, thanks to these activities, both parents and teachers broaden their knowledge about respiratory pathologies such as asthma, one of the most common diseases among children.”
