The Lovexair Foundation will be present at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress, which will take place in London from September 3 to 7.
This convention has grown each year to become an unavoidable call for everyone involved in respiratory medicine.
The main objective of this meeting is to promote research, promote education and exchange information and knowledge in order to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from respiratory diseases.
Our role in this congress is to be very participatory, together with other patient organisations, at a European and international level, and continue to progress in the areas of prevention, education, training, self-care, research and support for the fundamental rights of patients. . In this way, our advances in these different areas are contrasted and the latest trends in the management of patient organizations at a national and European level are observed.
La ERS It offers us a networking opportunity to catch up with the main researchers or clinicians with whom we collaborate, find opportunities in common interests, and at the same time it is an excellent showcase to present our main activities aimed at patients and families.
This year we will present three key activities of the Foundation: the campaign "Healthy Cities”, aimed at informing about how to improve the control of childhood asthma; progress in the lovexair clinical study, which measures the patient's adherence to post-pulmonary rehabilitation programs with a comprehensive care plan, and which has the support of an app and the accompaniment of an educator; and the launch of the project HappyAir for the promotion of lung health and active life, recently launched in pharmacies in Madrid.
We are currently collaborating, together with the European COPD Coalition (ECC), in a project to create an ICT tool that will simulate scenarios of the economic and potential impact that certain programs have on COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)The aim is to provide an instrument that could contribute to improving the political decisions adopted in the social and health environment of the member countries of the European Union.
We also work closely with the ELF (European Lung Foundation) as a member of its Patient Advisory Committee (PAC), a strong platform through which Lovexair represents and advocates for the interests of respiratory patients. During the congress, this Committee develops various activities, obtaining great visibility among health professionals. Among other actions, lung health (healthy lungs for life) is promoted through important events such as spirometry, an activity that this year will take place in London's Trafalgar Square.
The Foundation benefits from this annual meeting to exchange information and advances with other organizations such as the COPD Foundation y Alpha-1 Foundation. In this meeting, the advances to meet the interests of patients affected by minority respiratory diseases and research and care for these patients are valued thanks to the recently consolidated relationships with Inclusive y HU Vall d'Hebron through Dr. Dasi and Dr. Moreno, respectively.
In short, the Congress is a key opportunity to share knowledge between countries and professionals from different disciplines, since they all work with the aim of developing respiratory health and consequently improving the quality of life of patients.
