Nowadays we are all very knowledgeable when it comes to masks, but we are going to remind you of the types of masks available on the market, which mask should I use and which ones are indicated to protect people who suffer from seasonal allergies.
Allergic rhinitis or seasonal allergy It is a set of symptoms that affect the nose and usually occur when a person inhales particles to which they are allergic, such as dust, pollen and other triggers.
The main symptoms of allergic rhinitis are itchy nose and/or eyes, itchy eyes, repeated sneezing and nasal congestion, which may occur rather suddenly.
Which mask should I use and is it the most suitable for me?
- People with allergies should wear FFP masks to protect themselves and avoid exposure to allergens.
- Masks help reduce pollen and dust particles in the air we breathe by up to 80%.
- The use of masks reduces symptoms in patients with allergies.
What types of masks exist?
Hygienic These are made from washable fabrics and have not proven to be effective in preventing infection by microorganisms or the filtration of allergens.

Surgical These filter the air that the person exhales, but do not protect against possible inhalation of viruses; they do not trap particles smaller than 1 micron.

Protective (FFP)
There are 3 types: FFP1 (low efficacy), FFP2 (medium efficacy) or FFP3 (high efficacy).
Any of these (FFP) are suitable to protect us and others, since they do not allow particles found in the air we breathe, such as pollen and viruses, to pass through.
